Set in the northern part of Alaska, Kotzebue is a small town, home to 2,889 residents as of the latest Census estimates.
Kotzebue holds the status of an incorporated city with its own municipal government. The community covers 24.41 square miles, giving it wide-open spaces and a spread-out, rural feel at roughly 118 residents per square mile.
